[Dog Shimenawa Making Workshop]
A shimenawa is a sacred Shinto rope made of rice straw, traditionally displayed in Japan during the New Year to bring purification and good fortune.
Many people bring their dogs to visit shrines and temples for the New Year, right?
So, why not wear these outfits for your first visit? ☺️✨✨

While shimenawa are often made from rice,
this one will be crafted using domestic rush grass, the same material used for tatami mats.

- Bring clothes you don’t mind getting dirty or an apron.

- Paper or nylon bags to carry your belongings home.
